Notice of Declassification, Withheld

Per the transparency directive, the Directorate of Withheld Matters is required to announce all declassifications in advance. This notice fulfils that requirement.

The Ministry confirms that one (1) of the eleven records currently on display in Classified Goods has been approved for declassification. The approval is final, initialled, and filed.

The identity of the record has been assessed and found to be classified. Which one, accordingly, is withheld.

The Ministry confirms the following, in order:

• Eleven records are on display. This has not changed.
• One of them is now declassified. This has changed.
• No record will change in appearance. The redactions are load-bearing and will remain in place for structural reasons.

Members of the public are invited to view all eleven records and form no conclusions. Viewing is free. Conclusions are subject to review.

Inquiries as to which record has been declassified may be submitted in writing, where they will be logged, read, and classified on receipt.

A further notice will be issued when the declassified record is released. That notice has been drafted. It is classified.
