Description
The illustration depicts four figures crossing open ground on stilts, each pair of stilts a single elongated green bean. A guide in a pith helmet leads; the others, in sun hats and caps, balance behind at varying heights against a sparse sky.
Persons of ordinary size have been raised on runner beans pressed into service as stilts. Walkers and produce are of irreconcilable proportion, and the elevation gained is credited to a vegetable that cannot bear it. The Office records the height as misfiled.
